The short version.
Who approves claims and commitments?
Your team remains responsible for company claims, legal commitments and final approval. We escalate unsupported answers and policy decisions. We do not provide legal advice, audits, certification, penetration testing or compliance attestations.
What counts as a question?
One row of a questionnaire that Mattercite answers. It counts once. Re-running it after you update a document is free, within fair use: scripted or repeated re-runs with no document change behind them may be counted or limited. Each Chat answer counts as one question. Editing, approving, and exporting do not count.
What happens if we go over our questions?
Mattercite stops at your plan's monthly question limit rather than running up an overage bill on its own. To continue, add a question pack from the app (250 questions for $49, used after your monthly allowance, unused questions carry over) or upgrade to a larger plan. Document ingestion is unlimited; seats are a hard limit.
How many seats are included?
Starter includes up to 10 seats, Team up to 20, and Business up to 50. Each plan also includes a monthly question allowance. If you need more seats, write to us.
Can we switch plans or cancel?
Upgrades apply immediately and are prorated. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
What happens to our data if we cancel?
Your workspace stays available read-only for 12 months after the paid period ends, so you can review and export everything. After that it is deleted. You can delete it yourself at any time from Configuration.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Starter and Team include two months free with yearly billing: $1,490 and $4,490 a year. Business is $14,400 a year ($1,200/month equivalent), billed yearly only.
How do you handle payment?
Cards and ACH through Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. Invoices and receipts are available from the billing portal in the app.
Can you just complete the questionnaire for us?
Yes. Done for you is a fixed $1,500 for one questionnaire of up to 250 questions, returned completed and cited in three business days. You review and approve; we do the work. Longer questionnaires and 48-hour turnaround are quoted before you commit.
